How to start a political movement

Joe Romm and Bill McKibben discuss how to make climate change a viable political movement.  Thoughts?  It’s part of what this blog is trying to figure out.  When smarter and more active and influential people than I can’t come up with something concrete, where does that leave us?  Thoughts?

I saw Michael Pollan speak last spring and he made a convincing case for food policy as the next great citizen's movement. It links to national security, energy, health, economy, you name it...it's nice when political movements can coalesce around topics that benefit the commonweal.

Food policy is extremely important and fits well with all of the interdependent topics I try to address. I plan to talk more specifically about food and industrial production as time passes.
